Festival HOMO ALIBI 3.0 is an annual event organised by the non-profit and non-governmental organisation New Theatre Institute of Latvia. It was created 2000 as a link between the bigger festivals of contemporary theatre HOMO NOVUS'99 and HOMO NOVUS`01 with an aim to maintain the contact to the audience and to introduce to experimental directions in performing arts.

The particular theme of the third festival edition HOMO ALIBI 3.0 is the new forms and approaches in making theatre based on the impact of the technologies on contemporary society and new technical possibilities in theatre. Besides traditional media of theatre - work of actor, sound, light, static set design - new media like screening, projecting, digital sound and video technique are nowadays often involved in a performance. These developments are poorly presented in Latvia. Festival would like to change the prejudices that technological wonders often substitute the content of the performance. It aims to prove that technological media can play equivalent role like the means of traditional theatre serving the common idea of the performance. Different media expand and merge the boundaries between theatre and other arts (e.g. cinema, visual and media arts), generate new artistic forms that better respond the needs of young audiences.
