Regions.Arts.Nature kicks off with guest performance by Norwegian artists in Homo Novus festival



Organisations and artists from Latvia, Norway and Iceland will collaborate in the project Regions.Art.Nature which focuses on the potential of artistic residencies in rural regions and will take place from August 20, 2015 till April 30, 2016 in Rīga, Cīrava, Cēsis and Hammerfest.

The guest performance “distant voices” by Heine Avdal/fieldworks in Homo Novus programme on September 8 and 9, 2015, will introduce the Norwegian artist to Latvian audiences. In spring 2016 Avdal will work on a new creation in Rucka artist residency (Cēsis) in collaboration with local artists.

Regions.Art.Nature (EEZLV04/GSKA/2013/04) has received 54028,51 EUR from EEA Grants. The project’s total costs are 70625,50 EUR, state co-financing is 9534,44 EUR, co-financing by New Theatre Institute of Latvia is 7062,55 EUR.

The other activties of Regions.Art. Nature includes a seminar in Hammerfest during the kedja Encounter on November 5-8, 2015 and residencies and new creations by Norwegian and Icelandic artists in rural regions in Latvia.

The project partners are New Theatre Institute of Latvia (LV), Dansearena Nord (NO) and Fé & Fjörvi (IS).
