ACT: Art. Climate. Change

“ACT: Art. Climate. Change” (ACT) is a collaborative project involving 10 countries, whose conceptual foundations among the partner countries were established as early as 2010, when the partners created an international cooperation platform. Its aim is to strengthen the responsibility of cultural professionals and civil society in the face of climate change and the broader socio-ecological crisis.

Since 2012, the association Latvian Theatre Institute has also been active within this cooperation platform, initiating a series of art projects, campaigns, educational programs, and new forms of collaboration that have made climate change part of the artistic discourse in Latvia as well.

At the core of ACT is the transition from imagining to doing — inspiring the possibility of a sustainable future through the language of art: equality, climate justice, and coexistence, while engaging society through artworks, lectures, and masterclasses.
