  • Magic Carpets
    • From 2017 till 2021 the New Theatre Institute of Latvia together with 14 other organisations from Kaunas, Berlin, Folkestone, Rome, Prague, Bucharest, Limerick, Tbilisi, Porto, Zagreb, Novi Sad, Innsbruck, Lviv  and Nantes was a partner in a new EU platform Magic Carpets supported by Creative Europe. The goal of Magic Carpets was to foster the development and mobility of emerging artists by providing residency opportunities. The emerging artists in residencies had the chance to collaborate with local communities and artists and to work in the field of socially engaged and responsible art creating new multi-discipline artworks related to current issues of global nomadism, displacement and encountering otherness. www.magiccarpets.eu
  • ACT: Art, Climate, Transition
    • ACT is a European cooperation project on ecology, climate change and social transition. In an era of climate breakdown, mass extinction and growing inequalities we join our forces in a project on hope: connecting broad perspectives with specific, localised possibilities, ones that invite or demand that we act. ACT is a project initiated by 10 cultural operators from 10 European countries, working in the field of performing and visual arts. ACT is a project with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. ACT emerges from the cultural operators of the preceding Imagine2020 project. This European project evolved around raising awareness on the climate crisis, and presenting the arts as a strong designer of possible futures. Social awareness and citizen action on these issues recently saw an enormous increase in intensity and spread. ACT maintains our focus on arts, ecology and climate change, but we connect this to the interlinked issues of inequality, climate justice and urban ecologies. Finding ourselves in the Anthropocene era, we seek to include the agency and voicing of the non-human and other voices.   • Art BEyond PARTicipation
    • BE PART is a 4-year audience and organisational development project in the field of participatory art practices implemented by 10 EU and non-EU partners. BE PART sets out to create a European network of co-authors, supported by artists and organisations to collectively foster new approaches and structures for the co-creation and mobility of artworks. BE PART is a practical and critical exploration of collaborative art-making and sharing. It goes beyond defining multiple communities as ‘participants’ proposing them as co-authors of the artistic processes with specific knowledges and experiences to share. Partners: Santarcangelo dei Teatri (IT), City of Women Association for Promotion of Women in Culture (SI), Artsadmin (UK), Cork Mid-summer Arts Festival (IE), Festival de Marseille (FR), Kansallisgalleria (FI), Kunstencentrum Vooruit (BE), L’Art Rue (TN), New Theatre Institute (LV), Scottish Sculpture Workshop (UK).   • The Shake Down
      • The New Theatre Institute of Latvia and “Rosendal Teater” in Norway with the support of EEA Grants in 2022 launches a new international cooperation project “The Shake Down” (Nr. EEZ/2021/1/15). The project aims to develop a new generation of cultural leaders, who, given the right time and resources, can shift the way we consider young people as collaborators and put them in charge of the cultural creation.The project has been created with the support of the European Economic Area (EEA) Grants Financial Mechanism funding period 2014. – 2021. program “Local Development, Poverty Reduction, and Cultural Cooperation” open call “Support for the Creation of Professional Art and Cultural Products for Children and Youth”.The project’s total eligible costs are € 249 635,00. The Shake Down benefits from a
        € 212 189,75 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants and
        € 37 445,25 from national co-financing. The project’s realisation period is from 15 December 2021 until 1 June 2023.

        The EEA Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. There are two overall objectives: reduction of economic and social disparities in Europe, and to strengthen bilateral relations between the donor countries and 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.
