Public Climate / Private Weather Vol 2



Public Climate Private Weather is a platform for creation and presentation of first works by emerging Latvian choreographers. Second evening in the series presents premieres by Jana Jacuka, Laura Gorodko and Arina Buboviča, recent graduates of the Latvian Academy of Culture.

Jana’s coming of age story starts with an extreme episode in the childhood and takes us through daughter and father relationship.

Laura Gorodko “Pocket Size Polyogn”|
Performer: Sabīne Neilande
Laura and Sabīne have been collecting their plastic waste for the duration of the project. Now all of it appears on stage and takes over the living space.

Arina Buboviča ” Stand up”*
How to tackle the never-ending drama and banality of everyday? Arina tries her hand at standup comedy.

Public Climate Private Weather presents a series of short length works by emerging Latvian dance makers. Young professionals are invited to work on their first stage pieces, receiving mentorship and technical support during the process. Each of the series introduces three artists. The mentors are director and dranaturge Anni Klein (Helsinki), choregrapher Elīna Lutce and project curator Laura Stašāne.
